Nigeria — Solutions and Mobility Index Round 1 — Yobe State (August 2025)
Country: Nigeria Source: International Organization for Migration Please refer to the attached file. To support the identification of durable solutions to internal displacement—whether through return, local integration, or relocation— and to prevent new displacement, it is essential to understand the relative levels of stability in locations hosting displaced and returning populations. In response to this need, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) launched the Stability Index (SI), now referred to as the Solutions and Mobility Index (SMI), in 2019. The SMI assesses key factors influencing stability in displacement-affected areas, helping to identify priority interventions for recovery and transition while strengthening community resilience. The SMI measures perceptions of stability and analyzes the factors that influence decisions to remain in place or move. In Yobe State, the tool supports government authorities and partners in developing evidence-based strategies and prioritizing resources that link humanitarian, recovery, and stabilization efforts. This report presents the findings from the Solutions and Mobility Index Round I data collection conducted in Yobe State in August 2025.
