Taal Volcano SO2 emission doubles after 2 days
LUCENA CITY — After two days of lower sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported on Friday that Taal Volcano in Batangas again showed an increase in these emissions. In its latest 24-hour monitoring, Phivolcs said Taal Volcano emitted 1,314 tons of sulfur dioxide from its main crater on Thursday, more than double the 625 tons recorded daily on May 19 and 20.
