MANILA, Philippines — Heat index peaked at 47ºC on Wednesday, May 13, specifically in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur and Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said. Heat index ranging between 42°C and 51°C is tagged “danger” level due to increased risks of heat cramps and heat exhaustion, which could then lead to heat stroke.
