PSEi climbs on hopes of US-Iran peace deal
MANILA, Philippines — Local stocks edged higher on Thursday as investors took cues from Wall Street’s overnight rally, fueled by hopes of easing geopolitical risks in the Middle East. The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) climbed 0.46 percent or 27.30 points, to close at 5,920.70. Philstocks Financial Inc. said sentiments improved after United States President Donald Trump said the US and Iran were already in the “final stages” of negotiations, raising hopes that a peace deal could be reached soon.
