House OKs bill granting free license, civil service exams to poor Filipinos
MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives on late Wednesday approved on third and final reading a bill granting free licensure and civil service examinations to poor Filipinos and members of indigenous groups. With 266 votes in favor, none against, and one abstention, lawmakers passed House Bill No. 8869. This measure seeks to exempt poor and indigent Filipinos from examination fees charged by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
