Taytay, Rizal residents warned as heat index reaches 47.15°C

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – The local government of Taytay, Rizal, advised residents to take precautionary measures after the town’s heat index reached 47.15 degrees Celsius on Thursday. In an advisory posted on its Facebook page around 1:10 p.m., the Taytay Public Information Office (PIO) said the municipality’s heat index, or “real feel” temperature, reached 47.15°C as of 1 p.m. “Extra caution is advised, as this level of heat may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke,” the advisory, written in Filipino, stated.
