P5.1-M cigarettes sans graphic health warning seized; 2 arrested

MANILA, Philippines — Two men were arrested in Laguna for possession of an estimated P5.135 million worth of cigarettes that allegedly lacked health warnings mandated by law, the Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP – CIDG) said on Wednesday. Identified by the aliases “Jon” and “Cris,” the suspects were apprehended in an operation in Barangay Canlubang, Calamba City last Monday night, the CIDG said in a statement.
