House seeks to avoid vegetable spoilage via rescue-buy initiatives

MANILA, Philippines — An initiative of the House of Representatives seeks to avoid food spoilage and help farmers by facilitating a “rescue-buy” of certain vegetables that are affected by oversupply or low prices. In a statement on Wednesday, the House said that the chamber under the leadership of Speaker Faustino Dy III and House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos rolled out the initiative involving farmers from the Cordillera region.
