'Latvijas balzams' still in major financial difficulty

Latvia's leading alcohol producer, "Amber Latvijas balzams," owes the state more than 28 million euros in taxes. It currently has legal protection, and the company must develop a plan by the beginning of October. According to official registry data, over the course of the year, the company has seen a decline not only in the amount of unpaid taxes but also in the number of employees, Latvian Radio reports on May 20.
