LX Pantos joins UN women's empowerment initiative, pledging gender equality push

LX Pantos, one of Korea’s leading global logistics companies, said Wednesday that it has officially joined the United Nations Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs). The corporate move represents a public pledge to dismantle gender disparities and cultivate a more inclusive corporate culture within an industry traditionally dominated by men. The initiative, established jointly by the UN Global Compact and UN Women, provides corporations with a framework of seven core principles. These guidelines pressure signatory companies to establish high-level corporate leadership for gender equality, guarantee fair workplace treatment, ensure health and safety for all employees and promote education and professional development for women. Globally, more than 12,000 enterprises have signed on to the framework, although adoption in Korea remains relatively exclusive, with LX Pantos becoming only about the 100th domestic firm to join.
