CEBU CITY, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Melencio Nartatez Jr. on Wednesday night denied that police personnel fired the gunshots that triggered panic and a lockdown inside the Senate amid tensions surrounding Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa. Nartatez arrived at the Senate complex after the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms sought police assistance following reports of gunfire within the premises. “Tumawag sa akin ang Sergeant-at-Arms n’yo na humihingi ng tulong.
