Rotational brownouts hit Metro Cebu as NGCP extends red alert status

CEBU CITY, Philippines- The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Wednesday evening, May 13, extended the red and yellow alert status across the Visayas grid due to insufficient power supply amid high electricity demand. In its latest advisory issued at 9 p.m., NGCP said the Visayas grid remains under red alert from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., while a yellow alert will stay in effect from 10 p.m. until midnight.
