Australian lawyer Kate Gibson to join Duterte’s new legal team at ICC
MANILA, Philippines — Another defense lawyer, who was part of the legal group that scored an acquittal for a former Congolese vice president, will join former President Rodrigo Duterte’s legal team. This comes as the former Philippine leader he faces trial in the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged crimes against humanity. The ICC’s Registry, the administrative arm of The Hague-based court, notified the Trial Chamber (TC) III about the appointment of veteran defense lawyer Kate Gibson, an Australian, as associate counsel of Duterte.
