Country: Mozambique Source: Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Please refer to the attached file. Since January 2026, La Niña-driven rainfall and Cyclone Gezani have caused catastrophic flooding across Southern Africa, affecting nearly two million people. Mozambique was the hardest hit, with 215 confirmed deaths and over 856,000 people impacted across provinces including Gaza, Sofala, and Maputo. In response, the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation (BTCF) mobilized medical teams and volunteers to provide emergency relief, medical care, community clean-up activities, and agricultural recovery support to flood-affected families.
