Iloilo City launches ‘Oplan Kontra Baha’ to reduce flooding risks

ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo City government, led by Mayor Raisa Treñas, launched on Tuesday the “Creek Cleaning Oplan Kontra Baha” initiative in Barangay Ticud, La Paz, to strengthen flood control and disaster preparedness in the city. The city government partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 6 and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 6 to carry out the clearing of key waterways aimed at preventing flooding in vulnerable communities.
