Visayas grid on yellow alert anew – NGCP

MANILA, Philippines – The Visayas grid is on yellow alert status anew, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, due to the unavailability of three generating units of large coal-fired power plants amid high demand for power. In an advisory, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said the grid’s available capacity during the day is at 2,691 megawatts while peak demand is projected at 2,594 MW.
