Country: Burundi Sources: Croix-Rouge du Burundi, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Please refer to the attached file. Sources for data marked as Other The figures presented here come from the 2024 general population census. Indeed, the entire province of Bujumbura, comprising the former provinces of Mairie, Bubanza, Bujumbura, and Cibitoke, borders the DRC and has entry and exit points, making it a high-risk zone for the spread of the Ebola epidemic. The large city of Bujumbura, with approximately 50% of the province's population, is thus more exposed and more vulnerable should the disease reach it.
