Local seafood industry books P31.68B deals in Spain
MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Agriculture (DA) on Wednesday reported that the Philippines’ seafood industry secured $514.9 million or around P31.68 billion in booked and negotiated deals at the recent seafood expo in Spain. Although it did not provide comparative figures, the DA said this marked the highest sales recorded by the seafood industry at the 32nd Seafood Expo Global (SEG) held in Barcelona. Agriculture Undersecretary Drusila Esther Bayate said booked sales totaled $450.6 million (P27.73 billion), while negotiated sales reached $64.17 million (P3.95 billion).
