The Gena tribe in Gena Waugla LLG, Kerowagi District celebrated one year of peace on Sunday May 17th, 2026 at Kendene Catholic Parish. The event marked the anniversary of a community reconciliation program that ended decades of conflict. The program was led by the St. Christopher Alive Association under the Catholic Diocese of Kundiawa. Last year it brought rival clans together to agree to stop sorcery-related violence, marijuana use, homebrew drinking and tribal fighting.
