PH economy to underperform until 2028 – DLSU economists

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine economy is expected to remain below potential until the end of the Marcos administration as the prolonged war and long-standing structural vulnerabilities dampen growth prospects, according to a De La Salle University (DLSU) report. In its May 2026 Report on the Philippine Economy, DLSU economists lowered their full-year growth projection to 3.11 percent, down from an earlier forecast of 3.79 percent.
