Iloilo City power rates dip by 27¢ per kWh despite high coal prices

MANILA, Philippines — Iloilo City consumers will get some relief in their electricity bills this month despite upward price pressures due to the Middle East war. Electric distribution utility More Electric and Power Corp. (More Power) announced Monday a reduction of 27 centavos per kilowatt hour (kWh) in May rates. This pulls down the residential rate to P11.8710 per kWh from P12.14 per kWh in April. Commercial rate also dipped to P11 per kWh from P11.27 per kWh.
