Mahama calls for African ‘health sovereignty’ as global aid declines

President John Mahama has used the global stage of the 79th World Health Assembly to call for a radical overhaul of the world’s health financing system, warning that Africa can no longer survive on what he described as an outdated model of donor dependency.
