Comelec processes over 5.1 M voter registration applications

MANILA, Philippines — More than 5.1 million voter registration applications have been processed nationwide by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) as of Friday, May 16, according to the latest data shared by the poll body. Figures from the Election and Barangay Affairs Department Director Divina Blas-Perez on Monday showed that a total of 5,142,336 applications had been processed across the country ahead of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) this year.  The BSKE is scheduled on Nov. 2, 2026 under Republic Act No. 12232, which moved the elections from the previously scheduled December 2025 polls.
