Pagasa flags dangerous heat levels across Eastern Visayas

TACLOBAN CITY — Several areas in Eastern Visayas experienced dangerously high temperatures on Monday as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) recorded heat index levels ranging from “extreme caution” to “danger,” prompting local governments to issue health advisories. Based on Pagasa monitoring, the peak heat was felt around noon, with multiple locations across the region recording heat indices high enough to raise concerns over heat-related illnesses.
