Pakistan - Severe weather, floods and landslides, update (PDMA, PMD) (ECHO Daily Flash of 13 May 2026)

Country: Pakistan Source: European Commission's Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Heavy rainfall, strong winds and thunderstorms have continued to affect northern Pakistan (in particular the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province) since 10 May, causing floods, a number of severe weather-related incidents (mainly due to the strong wind) and triggering landslides that have resulted in casualties and damage. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reports, as of 13 May, a total of five injured people across Lower Kohistan, Shangla and Torghar districts. In addition, the PDMA also reports one destroyed house, four damaged houses and one damaged school across the aforementioned affected districts and the Torghar district. Over the next 5 days, moderate rainfall is still forecast over northern Pakistan.
