Country: Indonesia Source: European Commission's Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations On 7–8 May, heavy rain and resulting flooding struck South Sulawesi in central Indonesia, causing fatalities and damage. The ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) reported, as of 8 May, two deaths and 4 485 people affected in Bone Regency, where 1 146 buildings were damaged. ADINet also recorded two further fatalities in Kendari, the capital of Southeast Sulawesi, with 3 517 people affected, 800 buildings damaged and three roads inundated, one of which was partially cut off. Over the next 48 hours, moderate to locally heavy rain is forecast across most of South Sulawesi and the whole country.
