HEAT INDEX WATCH: Danger levels expected in Metro Manila, 36 others
MANILA, Philippines — Dangerous heat indices are forecast to soar in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) weather station in Pasay City and 36 other areas in the country on Monday, May 18, according to the state weather bureau. Based on its latest update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Naia’s weather station is seeing heat index soaring to 42°C. Meanwhile, Pagasa said the highest heat index for the day is expected to be 45°C, which could prevail in Coron, Palawan; San Jose, Occidental Mindanao; and Cuyo, Palawan.
