Jia De Guzman, other core players skip Alas Pilipinas duties

MANILA, Philippines — Alas Pilipinas won’t be having the services of several of its core players this year, starting in the AVC Women’s Cup from June 6 to 14 in Candon City. Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Tonyboy Liao announced during a press conference on Wednesday that Jia De Guzman, Bella Belen and Maddie Madayag have begged off from national team duties this year. Liao added that Alyssa Solomon, who played for Osaka Marvelous in the Japan SV.League, also won’t be joining Alas in its 2026 campaign.
