Karachi courts reserve decision on police pleas for alleged drug queenpin Anmol’s physical remand
KARACHI: Multiple courts on Saturday reserved their decision on police requests for the physical remand of alleged drug queenpin Anmol alias Pinky. Various magistrates of districts South, Central and Malir have reserved orders on police requests for physical remand of Pinky in around 10 cases. Anmol was arrested earlier this week from her apartment in Karachi in a joint raid conducted by police and a civilian intelligence agency in connection with two cases pertaining to the possession of narcotics and an unlicenced weapon. She was already booked in multiple criminal cases prior to her arrest. Police have said a “broad-based investigation” had been launched into the case after a preliminary probe suggested the involvement of foreigners in operating the narcotics network. On May 12 , the police brought her before the judicial magistrate (South), who refused to hand over the custody to the police and sent her to prison on judicial remand. The next day, a district court remanded her in police custody for three days , which expired today. More to follow
