Visayas grid to be placed under Yellow alert on May 13

CEBU CITY, Philippines – For the second straight day, the Visayas grid will be placed under Yellow Alert as peak demand for power would likely outpace supply generation. The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on Wednesday, May 13, has issued another Yellow Alert for Visayas that will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Available capacity stood at 2,580 megawatts (MW) against a peak demand of 2,423 MW, the national grid reported.
