Cagayan town imposes swimming ban after drowning of taekwondo athlete

TUGUEGARAO CITY, CAGAYAN, Philippines — Mayor Abraham Bagasin of Sanchez Mira, Cagayan has imposed a temporary ban on swimming in coastal areas after a taekwondo athlete drowned on Monday, May 11. The body of Ramdolph Salbador, 13, was found at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, along the shores of Masisit, Sanchez Mira. Bagasin told the Inquirer by phone that they will announce to villagers later once the swimming prohibition is lifted in the next few days.
