Pagasa: LPA has no effect, but isolated showers possible on Friday

MANILA, Philippines — While the low-pressure area (LPA) east of the country has no effect on local weather, state meteorologists said that localized thunderstorms and isolated rain showers may still be felt in different areas across the country. In its weather bulletin on Thursday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the LPA, which used to be Tropical Storm Caloy, was last seen 895 kilometers east of Southern Luzon.
