PNP downgrades to ‘heightened alert’ day after Senate shootings
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has downgraded its alert level status to “heightened alert” a day after the shootings in the Senate. Some armed individuals allegedly tried to enter the chamber through the second floor on Wednesday night, but were stopped by the Senate Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms, who reportedly fired several warning shots.
