Shakey’s Q1 income falls 27% on weak consumer spending
MANILA, Philippines – Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc. on Thursday reported weaker earnings in the first quarter due to softer consumer spending and ongoing expansion offsetting double-digit sales growth. The Po family-led restaurant operator said on Thursday net income after tax (NIAT) fell 27 percent to P134 million in first quarter, while core NIAT dropped 17 percent.
