SEC expands portfolio threshold rules for qualified buyers
MANILA, Philippines – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has revised its rules on qualified buyers to include securities exempt from registration and be part of the portfolio investment threshold. It added the move aims to broaden investment participation and streamline regulations. In a statement, the SEC said it issued Memorandum Circular No. 15, Series of 2026 on May 13, amending Rule 10.1.5 of the 2015 Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Securities Regulation Code (SRC).
