According to the latest available figures from the Turkish Presidency of Migration Management (PMM), there are more than 3.7 million foreign nationals present in Turkish territory, 2.5 million of whom are seeking international protection. Most of those granted temporary protection status are Syrian (2,347,756 individuals). Significant shares of international protection applicants and holders originate from Iraq, Afghanistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Ukraine. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), there were 166,899 refugees and asylum-seekers in Türkiye as of 2025.
