OVERVIEW Since the ceasefire in Lebanon was announced on 17 April 2026, the rate of displacement from Lebanon into the Syrian Arab Republic (hereafter referred to as Syria) has continued to decline compared to the initial phase of the conflict. Approximately 32,360 Syrian and Lebanese individuals have returned to Lebanon since the peak of displacement (153,087 arrivals recorded on 27 April 2026). Between 2 March and 01 June, DTM recorded 120,727 individuals arriving across 1,240 locations spanning all 14 governorates in Syria. Arrivals were predominantly Syrian, with Lebanese nationals accounting for less than 1 per cent of those recorded. As of 01 June, a total of 395,369 movements had been recorded along the four points of entry (PoEs) at the Syrian–Lebanese border where DTM tracks population movements into Syria. The majority of movements recorded involved Syrian nationals (97%), with 3 per cent Lebanese nationals. An additional 2,301 Lebanese nationals were reported to have transited through Syria to Jordan. During the reporting period, key informants (KIs) reported that the arrival of additional households has placed further strain on basic services, particularly water supply, health care provision, and other essential service delivery systems that were already operating under limited capacity. These pressures were reported alongside perceptions of declining humanitarian assistance in some locations, further compounding service gaps and household vulnerability. Security concerns also remained a prominent factor shaping perceptions among returnees, with heightened anxiety reported among arrivals. In combination with constrained livelihoods and persistently...
