CONTEXT The operational environment in Lebanon remains highly volatile, with continued hostilities undermining already fragile ceasefire conditions. Despite the extension of the ceasefire until 1 July 2026, airstrikes and displacement orders persist, affecting at least 61 localities across southern Lebanon, particularly in Nabatieh and Tyre districts, as well as areas south of the Zahrani River. Displacement dynamics remain fluid and unpredictable, characterized by recurrent and precautionary movements. Secondary displacement continues to be reported as families relocate in response to shifting security risks rather than pursuing sustainable return options. Recent displacement waves have also extended beyond southern Lebanon, including movements from Beirut’s southern suburbs following displacement orders. These trends are increasing pressure on host communities in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, Aley, Chouf, and Saida, while collective sites, hosting over 130,000 individuals, are facing severe overcrowding and reduced capacity to absorb additional influxes. The humanitarian situation is further aggravated by continued attacks on civilian infrastructure. Health facilities and personnel remain directly affected, with incidents resulting in casualties among healthcare workers. Between 25 and 29 May alone, three such incidents were reported, resulting in one fatality and three injuries. Cumulatively, attacks on healthcare infrastructure continue to rise, while access to essential health services, particularly in areas south of the Litani River, remains critically constrained.
