Quezon town partners with BFAR for assessment of coral reefs, resources
MANILA, Philippines — In line with National Fisherfolk Day, the local government unit (LGU) of Gumaca in Quezon province has partnered with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) to assess the health of coral reefs and water resources. In a Facebook post on Sunday, the LGU honored fisherfolk for their role in protecting the marine area of Gumaca. Proclamation No. 261 mandates the observance of National Fisherfolk Day every May 31.
