'Sabon' scam: 18 vendors nabbed for 'coercing' motorists in Cebu City

LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — Local police have intercepted 18 vendors accused of forcing and scamming motorists and commuters to buy products while selling along major roads in Cebu City. The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) said the individuals were caught during monitoring and enforcement operations conducted along Gorordo Avenue in Barangay Lahug on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
