Yemen — Rapid Displacement Tracking Update (17 - 23 May 2026)

IOM Yemen DTM’s Rapid Displacement Tracking (RDT) tool collects data on estimated numbers of households forced to flee on a daily basis from their locations of origin or displacement, allowing for regular reporting of new displacements in terms of estimated numbers, geography, and needs. It also tracks returnees who returned to their location of origin. From 1 January to 23 May 2026, IOM Yemen DTM tracked 1,065 households (HH) (6,390 Individuals) who experienced displacement at least once. Between 17 and 23 May 2026, IOM Yemen DTM tracked 15 households (90 individuals) displaced at least once. The majority of people moved into/within the following governorates and districts: Ma’rib (8 HHs) – Ma’rib (5 HHs), Harib (2 HHs), Ma’rib City (1 HH) districts. All displacements in the governorate were internal. Shabwah (4 HHs) – Ma’rib (5 HHs), Harib (2 HHs), Ma’rib City (1 HH) districts. Most displacements in the governorate originated from Ma’rib and Ibb. Al Hodeidah (3 HHs) – Hays (3 HHs) district. All displacements in the governorate were internal. The majority of people moved from the following governorates and districts: Al Bayda (4 HHs) – Rada (4 HHs) district. Amran (4 HHs) – Huth (3 HHs), Raydah (1 HH) districts. Al Hodeidah (3 HHs) – Al Qanawis (2 HHs), As Sukhnah (1 HH) districts. IOM identified 19 additional households displaced in the previous reporting period, which covered 10 - 16 May 2026, in the governorates of Ma’rib (10 HHs), Ta’iz (7 HHs), and Al Hodeidah (2 HHs).
