This report provides insights into the profiles, experiences, needs, routes travelled and intentions of migrants transiting through the Western Balkans. IOM surveyed 1,814 migrants from 1 January to 31 March 2026 in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Kosovo (UNSCR 1244). The report is structured into three main sections: The countries of origin (CoO) of the migrants, the routes taken and the countries they transited through, and their intended destination countries.
