PNP probes possible sabotage in Batangas power line

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) is investigating possible sabotage as the reason why the Ilijan-Tayabas power line in Batangas tripped. “Criminal investigators and forensic teams have already been deployed to the site to gather physical evidence,” PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement on Thursday. “My instruction is to finish the investigation in the soonest possible time and conduct operations against those responsible, if indeed there was an act of sabotage involved,” he noted.
