Marcos secures P61.3B in investment pledges from major Japanese firms

TOKYO, Japan — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday secured around P61.3 billion in potential investments from major Japanese companies in shipbuilding, electronics, semiconductor production, artificial intelligence (AI)-driven technologies, and green maritime industries. In a press release, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said the investment pledges are projected to generate around 10,300 additional direct and indirect jobs across the Philippines.
