Metro Cebu may face rotational brownouts again on May 28

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Customers in several parts of Metro Cebu may experience rotational brownouts Thursday evening, May 28, if the Visayas grid is placed under red alert status, according to an advisory issued by power utility Visayan Electric. The utility said the Visayas grid remained under yellow alert as of posting time, indicating that while available power supply remained sufficient, reserves had become limited amid elevated electricity demand. Visayan Electric said rotational outages would only be implemented if the grid escalates to red alert status, which occurs when electricity demand exceeds available supply.
