Pentagon awards Microsoft US$9.7bil deal in bid to cut costs, end licence sprawl

WASHINGTON: The Pentagon on Wednesday announced a five-year, US$9.69 billion agreement to consolidate Microsoft and other enterprise software licences scattered across the military services, the intelligence community, and the US Coast Guard into a single contract vehicle, officials said.
