This analytical brief examines the reintegration of veterans in Ukraine, drawing on data from Rounds 22 and 23 of IOM’s General Population Survey, collected between October 2025 and March 2026. The brief finds that economic and social reintegration can move in opposite directions: economic indicators eased over the assessed period, even as veterans' sense of community belonging fell sharply. The analysis identifies distinct vulnerability profiles across key sub-groups, particularly displaced veterans and veterans with disabilities, who face compounded challenges including income, housing, health care, and mental health. These groups are considerably more likely to employ emergency-level coping strategies, report unmet service needs, and have reduced access to sustainable livelihoods. The dual role that many veterans play — both providing and receiving care within their own households — is also highlighted. Taken together, the findings are intended to inform evidence-based programming and policy in Ukraine, supporting more targeted and integrated approaches to veterans reintegration.
