DILG urges LGUs to speed up approvals for renewable energy projects

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) urged local government units (LGUs) to speed up the approval processes for renewable energy (RE) projects across the country. In a statement on Tuesday, DILG explained that their appeal to LGUs came amid the government’s push for energy security and the declaration of a national energy emergency. “Amid the ongoing energy crisis, the Department of the Interior and Local Government has urged local government units to streamline and accelerate the approval process for the establishment of renewable energy projects nationwide,” it said.
