HIGHWAY NO MORE
The Highlands Highway is about 700 kilometres long. Starting from Lae, in Morobe Province, the Highway stretches, like a huge serpent through the Markham Valley, then climbs the challenging Kassam Pass, which borders the coast of mainland PNG, into the Arona Valley and Kainantu in the Eastern Highlands Province. From there, it meanders through this coffee-growing region into Goroka, then over the notorious Daulo Pass, and drops away into Chimbu Province.
