Tonga: Dengue Fever Outbreak Situation Report #23, 25th May 2026 [EN/TO]

HIGHLIGHTS: • A total of 66 confirmed dengue fever cases since the last report; including 2 new cases. • Age group, gender, and island distribution remain unchanged, with the majority of cases reported among age group 11 – 14years, predominantly male, and highest in Tongatapu Island. • Two cases are currently hospitalized, with one at Princess Fusipala Hospital, Ha’apai and one at Niu’eiki Hospital, ‘Eua. • No dengue- related death reported to date. • Dengue virus serotype 2 (DENV-2)
